September Release Rollup: AI Personalization, Multi Domain Support for Salesforce, and More

Our September release brings improvements across Egnyte.

We’ve made AI more relevant—it now remembers a user's preferences and past interactions. We’ve also added tools for organizing files and folders directly from conversations. Admins will now have control and clear visibility into MCP activity. They can see reports about tools and sessions. The release also expands Salesforce integration to Egnyte domains. It routes records and content correctly, and supports separate configurations, permissions and folder templates for each domain.

Collaboration

Mac Desktop App

  • Manual file locking in ABC (Adaptive Block Caching): Admins and users with write permissions can now lock and unlock files directly through Egnyte Actions in ABC mode, helping prevent conflicting edits. Locked files are automatically released after 7 days if not manually unlocked. This feature is available in Windows Desktop App as well.
  • Egnyte Actions in Home screen tabs: Users can now access Egnyte Actions directly from recents, bookmarks, and projects, so they can share, lock, launch workflows, and use AI without navigating to Finder.

Windows Desktop App

  • File locks: Files edited on Egnyte drive will remain locked until the cloud version confirmation to prevent overwrites and duplicates.
  • Azure Virtual Desktop support: Egnyte Desktop App now supports Azure Virtual Desktop to provide organizations with consistent file access across pooled or personal Windows 10 and 11 enterprise environments.

Mobile App

  • iOS App:
    • Ultra-wide camera support: Users can now zoom below 1x when taking a photo or video inside a folder. This makes it easier to capture scenes with devices that have ultra-wide cameras.
  • Android App:
    • Project Center: Project Center is now available on Android, giving users a dedicated dashboard to quickly find and access active projects without navigating nested folder hierarchies.
    • File source selection in AI Assistant: Users can now add up to 20 files as AI Assistant sources directly from chat using @ mentions, providing relevant context without leaving the conversation.
    • Remote app diagnostics: Users can now share logs directly from Android app settings, making it faster and easier to provide support with information needed for troubleshooting.

Intelligence

  • AI personalization: With AI personalization, AI Assistant and agents learn from interactions over time, using saved memories, past chats, profiles, and preferences to provide relevant context and deliver curated responses.
  • Organize file and folders with Egnyte tools: AI Assistant and agents can now organize files and folders directly from conversations, simplifying file management with actions such as create, copy, rename, move, and metadata updates.
  • Binary file uploads and downloads for MCP Server: Egnyte MCP Server now supports uploading and downloading all file types, including large files. This makes it easier to create content in third-party AI tools and move files directly into Egnyte, expanding AI-powered workflows beyond text-based content. Governance

  • Compliance Center for SEC and FINRA Compliance: Egnyte Compliance Center streamlines compliance operations, by automating collection of evidence artifacts for the FINRA Rule 4511 (b) and (c) and SEC Rules 17a-4(f) compliance requirements in the Financial Services sector.
  • Extended Snapshot-Based Ransomware Recovery: Snapshot-Based Ransomware Recovery now covers 120 days for Ultimate customers, up from 90, and 50 days for other plans, up from 30, giving customers more flexibility to restore data from an earlier point in time.
  • Error categories in purview labels error reports: Purview label error reports now include error categories such as Unknown, Transient, Deferred, and Permanent, making labelling failures easier to troubleshoot.

Platform

  • Public Cloud Connector: Administrators can now clone Public Cloud Connector configurations and snapshot jobs, automatically carrying over settings to simplify retries and duplicate job setup.

Industry

  • eTMF: Delete inactive studies and edit Site IDs: Study managers and administrators can now delete inactive studies and update Site IDs directly from Study Configuration and Site Details, simplifying cleanup while automatically reflecting Site ID changes across eTMF and corresponding Collaborate folders.
