March Release Rollup: Egnyte Copilot, Document Labeling for Google Drive, and More

We’re excited to share new updates and enhancements for March, including:

  • Document Labeling for Google Drive  
  • Self-Serve 14-Day Trials for Add-Ons

Intelligence 

Copilot: Multi-File Ask: Users can now select up to 10 items including files, folders, or both to interact with Egnyte Copilot. This enables a more focused, context-aware insights and actions directly from search results for precise responses. Learn more.  

Collaboration  

Egnyte iOS App Enhancements: 

  • Document Scanner OCR: The new Extract Text feature allows users to extract text from scanned documents with high accuracy using the new Extract Text feature. They can then save, copy, share, translate, or interact with detected phone numbers and emails. Learn more.  
  • Simplified Session Management: Users now experience a seamless login with Session Timeout and Remember Me removed. Login persistence relies on token expiration, preventing unexpected interruptions in the mobile app. Learn more.  

Egnyte Android App: 

  • Support for Preview Analytics: The Egnyte Android app now sends engagement data to Preview Analytics, capturing mobile interactions for a comprehensive content view. Stats are WebUI-only, accessible to users with editor permissions or higher. Learn more.  

Web UI

  • AI-Assisted Document Collection: Egnyte now enables document type selection in upload request templates. AI-assisted classification verifies file types, ensuring relevant submissions and reducing manual effort for a smoother review and approval process. Learn more.  
  • Tags and Document Type Columns in Folder View: Users can now see Tags and Document Type columns by default in Folder view, displaying tag count per file and specifying document types like Employee Handbook. Learn more
  • Automated File System Action Steps in Workflows: Users can now add Automated Action steps in workflows to move files, apply metadata, or trigger webhooks. These steps integrate with To Do, Review, and Approval for streamlined automation. Learn more
  • Egnyte Sign UI: Users can now experience an improved Egnyte Sign UI with new fonts, color-coded signer fields, dynamic text sizing, larger signature fields, and an updated embossed final document. Learn more.  
  • Auto-Suggest in Search: Users now get smart auto-suggestions in search, showing relevant files and folders from recent searches and bookmarks as they type, making it faster to find content. Learn more
  • Increased File Limit in Upload Request Workflows: The file limit per document in templates has increased from 40 to 150, giving users more flexibility in file submissions. Learn more.  
  • Upload File Size Limits: Users can now upload files via Web UI based on plan limits: 100GB for Team/Business plans and 150GB for Enterprise Lite/Enterprise, replacing the previous 100GB cap. Learn more
  • Self-Serve 14-Day Trials for Add-Ons: Users can now find plan details under Settings → Subscriptions → Current Plan and access the “Trial Add-Ons” tab to explore and activate free trials for informed upgrade decisions. Learn more.    

Desktop App for Windows:  

  • Drive Letters Mapping: The Desktop App now supports mapping Drives to A: and B:, allowing flexibility for legacy configurations and workflows that require these previously restricted letters. Learn more.  
  • Enhanced Notifications for Lost Folder Access: Users now receive clearer messages and notifications when accessing restricted file paths, helping them identify permission changes and resolve access issues efficiently and quickly. Learn more

Governance  

  • Document Labelling for Google Drive: Users can now integrate Google Drive labeling with Egnyte, importing label definitions and applying them to connected sources in Secure & Govern using Content Classification policies. Learn more. Learn more.  
  • Improved Control of Source Filter Visibility: Users in Secure & Govern’s Sensitive Content view will now see only accessible sources in filters. Visibility is based on their role, matching email, or data ownership within the source. Learn more.  
  • Custom Reports Users can now generate custom reports in Secure & Govern under Threat Management, applying filters and selecting specific dimensions for deeper insights into data security and governance. Learn more
  • Public API For Creation and Getting Status of Migration Jobs (Limited Availability): Users can now leverage public APIs for on-demand migrations in Secure & Govern, thus enabling job creation and status tracking for individual or all migration jobs. Learn more.  

Integrations 

  • MS Teams – Search Egnyte App for MS Copilot: Users can now use the Search Egnyte app in Microsoft 365 Copilot to search, summarize, and access Egnyte-stored content seamlessly without switching platforms. Learn more.   
  • DocuSign - Account Selection for OAuth: Users now see a prompt during OAuth to select an account if both standard and CRF-Part 11 DocuSign accounts exist. However, the update doesn’t impact file uploads or collaboration within the integration. Learn more.  
  • Bluebeam Studio Migration: Egnyte has migrated to Studio APIs from Studio Prime APIs without impacting existing functionality for file uploads or collaboration within Bluebeam sessions. Learn more.
