We’re excited to share new updates and enhancements for July, including:

Intelligence 

  • Improved file search and selection for Copilot and Knowledge Base interactions: Users can now easily search and select up to 10 files using the new + icon in the input box while using Copilot and Knowledge Bases. Learn more.    
  • Copilot – exclude subfolders from Knowledge Base’s scope: Users can now exclude subfolders when creating a Knowledge Base, reducing noise and improving response quality by focusing only on relevant content. Learn more.  
  • Egnyte Copilot for Android: Egnyte Copilot is now on Android, helping users work on the go by answering questions, verifying sources, and surfacing file insights instantly. Learn more
  • Egnyte Copilot enhancements for iOS: Users now see suggested questions when opening a Knowledge Base and can revisit past Copilot conversations using the new history feature. Learn more

Collaboration  

Web UI: 

  • Save and share views when browsing by metadata tags (limited availability): Users can now save, share, rename, or remove tag-based views, enabling faster access and standardized, reusable views across the organization. Learn more
  • Enable or disable group creation by power users: Admins can now let power users create groups, reducing overhead, or disable it to centralize group management and maintain consistency across the organization. Learn more.  
  • Group owner details for group exports and imports: Group exports now show owners with an \[o]\_ prefix. When importing via CSV, users can assign owners by using the same prefix. Learn more
  • AI-powered summary for links shared via email: Users can add AI-generated summaries to shared links in emails, providing recipients with helpful context for clearer, more efficient communication. Learn more.  
  • Improved security for links shared with specific recipients: For external shares using “People you choose,” recipients must authenticate with a unique email code, adding a secure layer to initial file access. Learn more.  
  • Exploded events in file audit reports: Users now see only the first 500 sub-folder actions in file audit reports; additional details appear in the Exploded Events Count column. Learn more
  • Team management improvements (limited availability): Admins or Power Users with full root access can now manage teams from subfolders, add or remove members, without needing earlier project or group privileges. Learn more
  • Saved views in BIM File Preview (limited availability): Users can now save BIM file views to streamline reviews, preserving model orientation, camera angle, and cut state for quick, consistent access. Learn more
  • Redesigned emails in links shared with specific recipients: Email notifications for externally shared links now offer a clearer design, with access instructions and direct links to shared files or folders. Learn more
  • Save scheduled audit reports to a desired folder location: Users can now choose a folder to save audit reports, improving access, organization, and collaboration beyond the default save location. Learn more
  • Create bulk e-signature requests using templates: Users can now send bulk signature requests using templates, streamlining signature collection for standard documents and reducing repetitive tasks with one consistent, efficient action. Learn more.  
  • Optional document support in upload request templates: Requesters can mark documents as optional or mandatory, allowing assignees to skip optional ones and submit requests more flexibly and efficiently. Learn more
  • Enhanced document submission flow: The improved document submission process offers fewer clicks for document uploads, making it quicker and easier for users to complete submissions. Learn more

Desktop App Core for Mac:     

  • External device sync prompt: When external storage is connected, users receive a prompt to sync the entire device to Egnyte or dismiss it and manually connect via context menu. Learn more.  
  • Improved handling of reconnected external devices: When plugging in a previously connected external device, users see a prompt to resume sync or remove it, ensuring control and preventing unintended data updates. Learn more.  
  • Improved visibility during reimport process: Drive reimport now includes clearer visual indicators and status messages, enhancing the user experience and making progress tracking more intuitive. Learn more.  
  • Improved macOS startup behavior: The Egnyte Desktop App Core now starts silently after reboot, running in the background without opening the main window for a seamless experience. Learn more

Egnyte for iOS:  

  • End of support for iOS 16: The Egnyte iOS app will no longer support iOS 16; update your device to continue receiving app updates, features, and bug fixes. Learn more
  • Offline folder auto-update (limited availability): iOS users can now auto-update offline files when online, during app launch, folder open, or Offline tab access, excluding subfolders. Learn more
  • Document scanner – optical character recognition: Users can now extract text from scanned documents, then save, copy, share, translate, or interact with detected emails and phone numbers. Learn more

Egnyte for Android:  

  • Enhanced move or copy experience: The Android app’s updated Move or Copy workflow offers a cleaner interface, persistent folder picker, and smoother navigation for faster file actions. Learn more
  • Egnyte Sign – multiple document requests: Users are now redirected to the mobile browser for a seamless signing experience when a signature request includes multiple documents. Learn more

Industry 

  • Project Center: Egnyte’s Project Center offers a centralized workspace to manage project folders, create new ones, export lists, and quickly locate content using advanced search and sort tools. Learn more

Governance 

  • Issue categories: Admins can now use Issue Categories in Secure and Govern to quickly filter and prioritize Threats, Exposure, and Access Hygiene based on risk and urgency. Learn more.   
  • Cloud to Egnyte Migration size limit restrictions notification (limited availability): During setup, users see a message if the migration job size exceeds limits. To continue, they must adjust the source folder selection to meet the allowed size. Learn more
  • Migration summary reports for each job run and consolidated job report (limited availability): Users can now access summary reports for individual migration runs and a consolidated job report, enabling better tracking, deeper insights, and easier issue troubleshooting. Learn more

Others:   

  • External replication to Amazon S3 and Wasabi: Egnyte’s External Replication lets customers replicate shared or private folders to Amazon S3 or Wasabi, retain structure, and schedule true ups to meet compliance needs. Learn more.
