Egnyters Making an Impact - Liz Hajjar

Egnyters Making an Impact, Featuring Liz Hajjar

Liz Hajjar is no stranger to making an impact. As the VP of Sales, EMEA at Egnyte and co-host of The Saus podcast, she’s all about sharing lessons and uplifting others while keeping things fun. But this time, we’ve turned the mic around on Liz!

We sat with Liz to ask about her journey, how The Saus came to be, and her advice for those looking to take bold steps in their careers.

What inspired you to create The Saus?

We call it The Saus because my co-host (Molly) and I met in Sausalito, California, at our first tech jobs. We felt that people in the middle of their careers, where we are, don’t get as much guidance. People write books when they’re at the end, and when you're starting out, there’s a lot of guidance, but what about those still learning and growing? That’s why we built this community to share what we know and keep learning from.

How has The Saus helped women in tech?

We wanted to create a platform where women could share their experiences, challenges, and successes. We’ve had incredible conversations with women leading in their fields, and we hear from our listeners saying, ‘I needed this today.’ That’s what makes it worth it.

How has The Saus helped your career at Egnyte?

Doing this podcast keeps me learning constantly. We’ve had incredible guests who bring fresh perspectives, and I take those lessons back to my work. It’s helped me sharpen my leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills in ways I didn’t expect.

What has been the most rewarding part of running The Saus while working at Egnyte?

The conversations and the community. Sometimes, we finish an episode and say, ‘Wow, that was a great lesson; we needed that.’ And then our audience, who we call The Sausers, teaches us just as much. They DM us and share their experiences; it’s a two-way street.

If you could feature anyone on The Saus, who would it be?

Sara Blakely, the CEO of Spanx. She built an empire from nothing, and her story is incredible. She is also a huge advocate and voice for women in entrepreneurship and business. I’d love to hear her advice on taking risks and growing a business while staying true to yourself.

The Saus Podcast features special guest speakers: Angie Vaux, CEO and Founder of Women in Tech and Stephanie Jenkins, VP of Sales at Panda Doc.

What advice would you give to women looking to make an impact in tech?

Be Bold. On The Saus, we always say, ‘Be bold and always eat dessert.’ Eating dessert means to enjoy your life, indulge a little, treat yourself, and celebrate your wins.

A lot of times, when you do something that stretches you, that’s against the grain, or feels scary, it’s because it’s new. But be bold because you can always go back to where you were. You might never get the same opportunity again to try something different, take on a new role, or move somewhere new. It sounds scary, but remember to be bold and give things a try.

Liz’s journey proves the power of learning, mentorship, and making bold moves. Whether through The Saus or at Egnyte, she continues to build community and inspire others to go after what they want while remembering to “eat dessert”!
