We’re excited to share new updates and enhancements for April, including:

Collaboration 

Desktop App

• Adaptive Block Caching (limited availability): Adaptive Block Caching enhances performance with connected folder support, faster thumbnails, recovery notifications, and visual indicators for efficient large file access.
• 64-Bit Desktop App for Windows: This upgrade replaces 4.x versions, improves installation reliability, enables predictable upgrades, and delivers a 64-bit Desktop App for better performance with large datasets.

Web UI

• Large icons (Gallery View): Gallery View now has an improved grid layout, rich hover actions, inline status indicators, and streamlined menus for cleaner navigation and easier collaboration.
• View or hide layers in PDFs: Show or hide layers in PDF files to help users focus on specific parts or layouts of complex documents. 
• Markdown (.md) formatted preview: Reading and editing is easier with the improved markdown viewing, which lets users toggle between formatted and raw previews in Quick View and Full Preview. 
• Persona-based onboarding (PBO) for new paid domains: Role-based journeys, structured tasks, and guided experiences accelerate adoption for Admins and Power Users from day one.
• Audit reports for co-editable links: Track who accesses and edits shared content in Egnyte. Audit reports now include recipient email addresses for co-editable links, improving visibility, accountability, and control over external collaboration.
• User search in auto-suggest fields: Find the right people faster in Egnyte. Auto-suggest now supports full-name search and surfaces the correct match first, making it quicker to add collaborators, assign tasks, and share files.
• Email domains for Standard User invitations: Control who can be invited as Standard Users in Egnyte. Manage allowed email domains to restrict access to trusted partners and organizations, improving security and user management.
• Browse by tags: When you browse by tags, the side panel now shows only the tags that actually have files or folders in your current view. This makes it easier to find relevant tags, filter accurately, and navigate faster.
• Customizable project metadata available via Project Public API: Users can now use the Project Public API to customize project metadata, letting teams define and manage project-specific fields in a flexible, scalable way.

Egnyte Sign

• Checkboxes and radio buttons in signature requests: Add checkboxes and radio buttons with custom labels to Egnyte Sign requests for structured inputs, less back-and-forth, and improved data consistency. 
• Browser redirection for checkbox and radio button Sign requests: Redirect Egnyte Sign requests with checkboxes or radio buttons to the mobile browser for compatibility, while standard requests continue in-app. Native support is coming in a future release.

Intelligence

• AI Safeguards: Restrict sensitive content from being included in AI-generated responses, across Egnyte’s AI Assistant, agents, and MCP Server. Control which users and groups have access to AI functionality to protect your company’s most sensitive data.
• Copilot renamed to Egnyte’s AI Assistant: Egnyte AI Assistant replaces Copilot as your go-to collaborator. Ask questions, get cited answers, summarize documents, and act across files and connected systems without leaving your workflow. Now available on Android and iOS, with support for Claude Sonnet 4.6 for faster, more accurate results.
• iOS App: 
  • AI support in file preview: AI-powered document Q&A and summarization is now available in shared links on the Egnyte iOS app, allowing logged-in users to get instant insights directly within the document preview.
  • Folder-level file request restrictions: Control file requests in the iOS app more clearly and consistently. If uploads are turned off for a folder, "Request files from others” is automatically removed from the mobile context menu so users only see allowed actions.
• Share conversations from AI tools: Share AI conversations across AI Assistant, Agents, and Knowledge Bases so teammates can reuse context, see answers and reasoning, and continue work without re-explaining. Permissions stay enforced, saving time, reducing repeat work, improving collaboration, and keeping teams aligned consistently.
• Agent Mode—AI Connectors and Agentic Search in Egnyte’s AI Assistant: Launch Agent Mode in AI Assistant to enable MCP-powered automation, and external integrations like Atlassian, Gmail, Procore, etc. Additionally, enhance search with Agent Mode using context-aware, metadata-driven queries, multi-step reasoning, and synthesized responses from multiple documents. 
• Improved conversation history: Streamline AI conversations with auto-titled history, quick search, contextual surfacing, and easy actions like pin, rename, delete, and share.
• MCP Server—improvements in existing and new tools: MCP Server has improved ChatGPT and Claude interactions with paginated large-file access, metadata discovery, direct links, controlled uploads, and clearer error responses.
• Custom AI clients for MCP Server: Enable administrators to define custom AI clients for MCP Server connections, ensuring approved access, stronger governance, and greater visibility and control.
• Model list upgrade and Agent Mode on by default: GPT 5.2 is now available to the customers and Agent mode is enabled by default in AI Assistant, allowing immediate use without setup for a smoother, more seamless experience.
• Data validation report in cloud migration (limited availability): Generate migration validation reports with job details, source vs destination comparison, and file-level mismatches to enable faster troubleshooting and improved traceability.
• Sync deletions in external replications (limited availability): Turn sync deletions on or off during replication setup for AWS S3 and Wasabi with the new Other Settings step. (Sync deletions are off by default.)

Industry

• Automated AEC document classification (limited availability): Auto-identify AEC document types using an SLM (small language model). Tag files automatically and improve organization and search accuracy, for faster retrieval and collaboration.
• Tokenized document auto-naming: eTMF Release 10 introduces admin-defined naming schemas, ensuring consistent document naming and simplifying the upload flow for study documents.

Platform 

Migration App

• Upload custom configuration file for shared agents: Admins can now upload custom configuration files for shared agents to create migration jobs while restricting power users from viewing or modifying them.
• UI improvements in throughput—bandwidth utilization: Improve bandwidth control with stepper-based throughput settings for faster adjustments, precise tuning, reduced scrolling, and a better user experience.
